Prior to starting the program, each MBA student must have an adequate background in quantitative methods and fundamentals of business principles. These requirements can be met through successful completion of course work in the following subject areas: Accounting, Calculus, Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing and Statistics. In lieu of completing undergraduate courses in each of these fields, students have the option of purchasing self-study CD courses and taking a pass/fail competency exam in each course. See Pre-Requisite options.

The Auburn MBA Program accepts applicants to start the program in the fall semester of each academic year. Applicants must submit transcripts of all previous college work, recent GMAT and TOEFL scores, completed Graduate School and MBA applications, three letters of recommendation, two essays, and a signed copy of the MBA Code of Ethics and Responsibilities together with the application fee. Prior work experience is a plus, and personal interviews are required. In screening applications, the philosophy in the MBA Program is to look for indicators of success. These indicators may include grades, test scores, leadership skills, and work experience; we evaluate the application as a whole, because we do not believe that an applicant can be adequately judged solely on the basis of standardized test scores.

To apply to the MBA program, you need to complete two applications. They are the paper MBA Application and the on-line AU Graduate School E-Application. For more detailed information regarding the application process and to download the necessary documents, please continue to the Application Forms area.

Applicants will also be required to take the GMAT Exam prior to being considered for admission. Information regarding the MBA Programs requirements for the GMAT and TOEFL exams may be found both in the Frequently Asked Questions and the GMAT and TOEFL site.

The Auburn Graduate School requires an admission request that differs from the MBA Admission form. Visit the Auburn University Graduate School Home Page for more information regarding the Auburn Graduate School and its E-Application process.
