Student life is a major part of any college experience, whether it is as an undergraduate or a graduate student. One club that all our MBA students join upon beginning classes is the Association of Graduate Business Students, more commonly known as AGBS. This club is responsible for sponsoring a gamut of activities throughout the year. For example, over the course of a semester, AGBS brings in speakers from companies such as Ernst and Young and KPMG to speak with our students about their company and possible job opportunities for graduates. On a lighter side, AGBS also plans various social activities for the students. Each year, there is a Halloween party, Christmas party and last year even a Cinco de Mayo celebration.

Each year our first year students attend a 3-day leadership conference held near Ashville, North Carolina. While attending the BlueRidge Conference on Leadership, our students participate in lectures given by various motivational speakers and learn a variety of leadership techniques that they can use in the MBA program as well as throughout their careers. Upon returning to Auburn, each student is asked to write a journal expressing their thoughts and feelings about each speaker and how they were impacted. The journals are then submitted to a BlueRidge panel and judged. The three winning students are awarded cash scholarships and a free return trip to the Conference the following year. Each student that attends the conference is awarded a Leadership Certificate. This certificate allows our graduates a way to distinguish themselves from MBA graduates from other programs.
